So Why Profitable Growth Services?

That's a good question that deserves a straight up answer.  For a few years, I worked on developing a phrase that summarized the beliefs that guide the decisions I make.  I boiled it down to three words and here they are:

"Commitment...Integrity...Service"

Without those three beliefs, it would not matter how much experience I had, how many customers I served, or how much time I spent keeping up on issues about food, farming, and agronomy.  Commitment means that I keep my word.  "Yes" means "yes and "no" means "no".  You need someone who will tell you what they think and not what you want to hear. Integrity means that regardless of the outcome, I stay committed to doing what is correct and proper.  Morals are not for sale, and a quick dollar made is never a proper dollar earned.  Service is what you pay for.  If I don't have commitment and integrity then I cannot offer you the service of my background and knowledge.

What is my view of farming?--In a word, "holistic"

I take a holistic approach to my practice. It is my opinion that we have segmented agriculture and food production to the point that farming is beginning to have enemies in places where it should have friends.  What I have continually done over a span of 28 years is be able to take ideas and thoughts and help them take shape in some of the most complicated of business environments.  To do such things requires a holistic approach, one that is adaptive and always learning.  This is what I have done and what I can provide to you.

I am an individual with a deep background in agriculture including a farm background and 28 years of retail experience.  I am an advocate of safe, sustainable food for consumers and the preservation of the husbandry of farming.  I support all types of farming that are sustainable to the farmer, earth, and animals.  I apply my view of man as a steward of the earth to my outlook on farming. All of my views will be framed with this point of view.

What is my background?

Coming from a family with 450 years of combined farm experience, I learned about farming practices while at home.  I went to college for Dairy Husbandry and entered the Agriculture Retail industry.  I learned much about business management, product marketing, service development, team building, and customer relations.  In 1996, I passed my Certified Crop Advisers exams and the Maryland Nutrient Management Exams.  I also received my Commercial Driver’s License, and my Commercial Pesticide Applicators License and quickly became a commercial applicator serving farmers in the central New Jersey area.  I have driven tractor trailers, operated Patriot sprayers, Terragators, and truck spreaders.  Since then I have also become a USDA-NRCS Technical Service Provider and an approved trainer by the New York Dept. of Environmental Conservation as an instructor of Pesticide Continuing Education Credits.

I have had the opportunity to work with many types of farms and food production.  Along the way, I have developed fertilizer programs that minimize environmental contamination and maximize crop utilization.  Recently I served on a volunteer committee to draft the test for the newly created 4R NMP Specialty category for crop consultants that work in the tri-state area around Lake Erie.  Today, I am a volunteer on the American Society of Agronomy committee for engaging the public in the promotion of professional agronomists and how agronomy affects all our lives.
